'GTA 6' Release Date, Rumors & News: 'GTA 5' Sequel Wishlist

By Staff| Jan 01, 2015

Publisher Rockstar Games has not confirmed speculations surrounding "Grand Theft Auto VI." This only suggests that the game may still be far from reach, and as we have previously noted, predictions are geared towards a 2017 - 2020 release date.

However, with 2015 kicking in, we could be at least two years away from seeing the sequel land on today's (or maybe the future's) consoles. Prior to that, it may be safe to expect that we'll be hearing official words from developers.

On a lighter note, the distance of the installment does not stop "GTA" loyalists from voicing out their wishes, with hopes that Rockstar hears and grants them. We've listed the most exciting desires for the rumored sequel, and just like you, we can only hope that they come true.

"GTA VI" Must Be Retro

Later this year, we've reported about fans wishing that "GTA VI" be set in the 70's. London appeared to be a requested setting, considering the city's flourishing culture at the time.

On the other hand, earlier posts in the "GTA" Forum have wished for an 80's setting. Whichever decade prevails, fans seemed to cherish the idea of a retro "GTA VI," and with potential high demand, this wish may actually be granted.

"GTA VI" Must Have a Female Protagonist

"GTA" has brought three iconic male protagonists to date: Michael, Franklin and Trevor. This raises interest as to whether the next installment paves the way for a female center.

The Christian Post cited the words of "GTA V" writer Dan Houser, "In the future, could we do a game with a lead female character? Of course, we just haven't found the right game for it yet, but it's one of the things that we always think about."

Naturally, a female center may appeal to female gamers, so this brings us another question: Do girls play "GTA" too? Find out here.

"GTA VI" Must Be Set in a New City

It has been suggested by International Business Times that Vice City (Miami-equivalent) could be the "next logical step" for the franchise. According to the outlet, "GTA IV" was housed in Liberty City (New York-equivalent), while "GTA V" brought us to Los Santos (Los Angeles-equivalent) and San Andreas (California-equivalent).

Yet we've also heard hinting that the next "GTA" could be set in Paris, Brazil and Las Vegas. An earlier account indicating that "GTA VI" is set in Chicago was disproved by the Epoch Times.

"GTA VI" Must Have More Vehicles

According to gta6grandtheftauto.com, the following vehicles would be desirable: 1967 Shelby GT500, Hot Rods, 1950's Ford Pickup Truck,1950's Chevy Pickup Truck or Chevy SS Camaros.

A "GTA" Forum user listed jet packs, submarine and flying cars in his wishlist -- and we couldn't agree more with the latter. But with such feature, the game may be set in a more futuristic time zone. If this comes true, we may have to ditch the retro setting, unless Rockstar makes the magic.

"GTA VI" Must Pack More, Simply

"GTA" Forum users have been very vocal about their wishes, so here are some other requests they made:

1. Better fighting system

2. Modern songs

3. Be able to do humanly activities (e.g. eating, drinking and defecating)

4. More interiors

5. Children and crippled people

The list goes on and on.

Meanwhile, the Heists DLC for "GTA" Online has been confirmed to come early next year. It arrives to all platforms, including the Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, PS4 and PC. "GTA V" comes to PC on Jan. 27, 2015.
