Samsung ATIV One 7 & ATIV Book 9 Revealed: Release Date, Specs, Features & Price [Video]
Samsung has taken the wraps off its newest computers just before the year ends. On Tuesday, the ATIV One 7 and ATIV Book 9 made their first impression, wrote PCMag.
The new ATIV One 7 is a curved, 27-inch, all-in-one PC. It appears to be a testament of Samsung's initial steps in bringing curved screens from television to desktop.
As PCWorld puts it, the ATIV One 7 is the company's first desktop computer, since it has offered laptops and Chromebooks in the past.
The system packs a full HD screen with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, Intel Core i5 processor, Intel HD Graphics 5500, 8 GB of RAM, 1 TB of built-in storage, 10-watt stereo speakers with Dolby Sound Effects, SideSync software, two USB 2.0 ports, two USB 3.0 ports and an SD card slot, Mashable noted.
On the other hand, the ATIV Book 9 seems to be the lightest Book 9 ever, according to MaximumPC. The laptop had a thickness of 0.46 inch, while it only weighed 2.06 lbs.
The outlet also took note of the following specs packed into the ultrabook: Intel Core M 5Y10c processor, Intel HD Graphics 5300, 720p HD webcam, Ethernet support, two USB 3.0 ports, micro HDMI output, headphone / microphone combo port, two 1.5W speakers and Windows 8.1 support.
The laptop comes in two versions; one that houses 128 GB of storage (4 GB of RAM) and another at 256 GB (8 GB of RAM).
In addition, PCMag cited the laptop's notable 12.2-inch screen, which came at a resolution of 2650 x 1600 pixels. The source noted this display as touch-capable, with a brightness range of 350 to 700 nits.
The ATIV One 7 is not a touchscreen display, said Mashable. This seems to be the major downside of the desktop.
PCWorld reported that the ATIV One 7 hits retail stores in February 2015, for a selling price of $1,299. The ATIV Book 9 comes at $1,199 for its 128 GB storage version, while the 256 GB type retails for $1,399. As told by the outlet, the laptops will ship Q1 2015.
