‘The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’ PS4, Xbox One Release Date, Gameplay & Trailer: Game Content Locked; Delay to Fix Graphics & Bugs
Those aiming to get their hands on "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" will have to wait longer. According to PC Gamer, the title's recently-announced delay polishes everything that needs to be, resulting in an over-all, better gaming experience.
The information came directly from CD Projekt Red co-founder / CEO Marcin Iwinski who told Nerdacy, "We are removing the final bugs and still running optimization in various areas. What it will result in is a smoother and more engaging experience and, yes, the game looking better across all platforms."
Iwinski's announcement killed speculations cited by PC Gamer, which claimed that the studio had some trouble with game development, or it had not finished things as scheduled. Thanks to his update, fans are now assured that their wait will not be put to waste, unless the course of the winds change.
"Across all platforms" meant the title would run smoothly for the PS4, Xbox One and PC. As reported by GamingBolt, the game's release date has been moved from Feb. 2015 to May 19, 2015. That's about three months' worth of patience and trust from prospects.
GameSpot took note of the studio's announcement of the delay, which appeared to be vague at the time. "The sheer size and complexity of 'The Witcher,' key features of the title, have had a decisive impact on production. Now, nearing the end of our work, we see many details that need to be corrected."
Since Iwinski just claimed that the studio has been removing "final bugs," we could actually infer that the game is already finished. In fact, he just revealed that the title's content has been locked.
The CEO went on to Nerdacy, "The content is locked, so no content changes are being made at this point. The scale of the open world in the 'Witcher 3: Wild Hunt' is unprecedented, so fear not -- there is enough gameplay to keep you playing for weeks."
Set in a rich and chaotic world, "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" is a role-playing game that brings players into a non-linear story and an open world experience, wrote IGN. Such world was noted to be populated by intelligent inhabitants; of preys and predators, villagers and invading monsters, and lovers at moonlight. On top of the dynamic environment, player choice and tactical combat take central roles in the title's gameplay.
