'Final Fantasy XV' Release Date, Gameplay & Trailer: First Female Cid Revealed!
Cid is back for Final Fantasy XV, and this time, as a female.
According to EuroGamer, Cid's character has been reinvented as a woman in the Final Fantasy franchise.
The latest reinvention of the mechanic is Cidney, and she's young, blonde, and apparently an American from the South. The website also noted that Cid is the game's way of addressing the lack of primary female characters in the game. However, Cid is very rarely a playable character, and if based on the trailer, that didn't seem to change.
Very little is known about the game itself, but here are some information from Gematsu.com, and it's more than enough to pique your interest in the latest installment of this fanstastic game:
1) Cidney (named Cindy in the Gematsu article) will show up throughout the game. According to the website, something happens to her in the beginning that will shake her up and get her to move around.
2) Cidney's role will also be relevant in the game, despite the fact that she's not very involved in the story. Her significance is mostly because she's a mechanic, though.
3) Game-wise, it will probably remind you of Sims, just the slightest bit - the main town, Restalm, is reportedly made to look like the Bahamas, and you can stay in hotels and go shopping while in it. Cool, huh?
4) There will be a lot of mini-games to keep you occupied during down-time, and that includes fishing, because how much of a down-time can it get with fishing? Unless a shark gets the bait...
5) For the fighting, several weapons are said to be equipped at a time with one main weapon, and rare weapons can be acquired from sketchy areas and dungeons, and the Phantom Sword can be acquired as one of the special weapons in the game.
The first trailer, according to Game Spot, was revealed during the Tokyo Game Show in September, which showed a quartet of new heroes riding through stretches of land with fantastical creatures. However, Final Fantasy publisher, Square Enix, has only just re-released an English version, and now everyone can enjoy a sneak peek into what is to be the next in the franchise.
