'Bones' Season 9 Spoilers: Killer Olympic Gymnasts?
“Bones” is now well into its ninth season. Pelant’s gone, Booth and Brennan are officially a married couple, so what’s left? With several of the series’ most prevalent storylines coming to a close, it feels like Season 9 is setting up the series for its final hurrah. There’s a lingering feeling that it’s tying up all its loose ends. The end is near.
But don’t lose hope. The series has at least one more full season ahead of it, and you don’t think the writers and producers would leave fans hanging dry like that? Of course not. There’s still plenty of “Bones” action ahead.
On Dec. 6, after the show takes a brief hiatus to allow fans to trample other frantic customers during the Black Friday pandemonium, Olympic gymnast McKayla Maroney will make her “Bones” debut. She’ll play a gymnast (to no one’s surprise) who is suspected of foul play. The episode, titled “The Spark in the Park,” will unfold as follows.
“The Jeffersonian team investigates the murder of a nationally ranked gymnast, whose remains were hit by lightning and scattered throughout a public park. Although evidence points to a fellow gymnast (guest star Maroney) as the key suspect, Brennan and Booth discover the victim was leading a double life. Meanwhile, Booth gets upset when Brennan shows surprising empathy for the victim’s father (guest star Richard Schiff), and Cam confronts the woman who stole her identity.”
Maroney has previously appeared on The CW’s “Hart of Dixie” as, you guessed it, a gymnast and will continue to accelerate her acting prowess on “Bones.”
“Bones” airs on its new Friday night timeslot on FOX.
