'Jurassic Park 4: World' Release Date, Cast & Trailer: Chris Pratt Poses With a Raptor In New Exclusive Pic
There is no doubt that a lot of fans are excited about the upcoming sci-fi film "Jurassic World." And to further add fuel to the fire, director Colin Trevorrow posted a teaser image that is guaranteed to keep fans pumped up for the highly anticipated fourth installment of the "Jurassic Park" franchise.
According to E! Online, Trevorrow surprised his Twitter followers when he tweeted a holiday message, but the photo accompanied in the tweet was what captured everyone's attention.
"Happy Holidays from the editing room. Do not try this at home," the director wrote on Twitter. Take a look at the picture below featuring "Jurassic World" lead star Chris Pratt casually standing beside a ferocious velociraptor.
"Trevorrow confirmed that the new movie would introduce a brand-new dinosaur that would be 'bigger, louder, with more teeth, but is not a 'mutant freak'," E! Online reports.
The film will indeed feature a brand-new genetically engineered dinosaur known as the Diabolus Rex or D-Rex. Chaos ensues in the dinosaur park when the vicious creature escapes from captivity, Rolling Stone reports.
Aside from Pratt, "Jurassic World" will also star Bryce Dallas Howard, Nick Robinson, Ty Simpkins, Irrfan Khan, Vincent D'Onofrio, BD Wong, Omar Sy, Jake Johnson, Judy Greer, Lauren Lapkus, Katie McGrath, Brian Tee, Andy Buckley, and James DuMont. Trevorrow penned the screenplay of the film with Derek Connolly, according to JurassicWorld.org.
When asked by what fans can expect from "Jurassic World," Khan, one of the cast members, said that the film is similar to a scary adventure.
"For sure it will have more vibe. It's the Jurassic World of these times, with all the technical experimentation. It has now become a fully-bloomed dinosaur amusement park. Dinosaurs in this film will definitely be scary, but this is not a horror film, so it will be like a scary adventure," the "Life of Pi" actor told The Hollywood Reporter.
Steven Spielberg, who created the past "Jurassic Park" films, is the executive producer of the fourth movie. The upcoming movie has been in development since 2001 and was only given a go by Universal Pictures in early 2013, JurassicWorld.org reports. Filming took place in the island of Kauai at Hawaii, New Orleans, the Six Flags theme park, and at Big Easy Studios inside the NASA complex.
"Jurassic World" is set to come out in theaters on June 12, 2015. Watch the official trailer below.
