Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet Ultra Release Date, Specs & Features: Gadget to Have 13-Inch Display?
Sony could launch a tablet with remarkable high-end specs.
A Chinese website called PadNews reported the news and posted a photo of Sony's alleged Xperia Z4 Tablet Ultra, which boasts a 12.97-inch display with a 3,840 x 2,400-pixel resolution. If the rumors were true, fans of Xperia smartphones could have a 4K Ultra HD screen with a 16:10 ratio, CNET wrote.
The photo also shows that the upcoming device will be equipped with a 6GB RAM processor, a size twice the 3GB threshold of majority of the latest high-end devices, CNET cited.
According to the news outlet, other specifications of the gadget include a 2.86GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, 64GB of internal storage, and a huge 12,100mAh battery. The Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet Ultra is also rumored to be 8.6 mm thick, with Live Color LED and X-Reality for mobile, and a camera with an 1/2.3" Exmor RS sensor with an f/1.8 Carl Zeiss Sonnar T* lens and an 8-megapixel resolution. The gadget is also rumored to support PS4 Remote Play.
"The Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet Ultra might also reportedly have an HDMI 1.4 input jack that would allow 4K video recording at up to 30 frames per second," Tech Radar reported.
The device could come out in the market as early as January next year. However, CNET pointed out that even though there's a huge chance that Sony will introduce a new tablet to the market, the Xperia Z4 Tablet Ultra's alleged specs "read more like a fanboy wishlist than like a feasible product for early 2015."
This isn't the first time that rumors about Sony's launch of the Z4 generation of its flagship devices came out on the Internet. GSM Arena reported that there have been previous claims about the specifications of the Xperia Z4, a compact version, a phablet version, and a Z4 Tablet.
Digital Trends added that the Xperia Z4, Z4 Ultra, and Z4 Compact could be unveiled at the Consumer Electronics Show or CES scheduled on January 5, 2015 or during the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in March. These are only rumors, however, and no official news from Sony has been confirmed yet.
According to CNET, Sony will have a press conference at the CES and the company may or may not announce news about their upcoming gadgets in the event. Until then, fans of the Xperia flagship devices should wait for Sony's official word.
