Air Jordan Release Dates 2014: AJ 11 Retro 'Legend Blue' Drops Dec. 20 - Photos, Price & Where to Buy
If you want easy-to-match shoes this Christmas, you might want to consider Air Jordan 11 Retro's "Legend Blue," available in retailers for $200 beginning Dec. 20.
"The classic has become a legend," said Nike.com, where it will be available beginning 8:00 a.m. EST (5:00 a.m. PST) at one pair a person. The colorway comes from the Air Jordan XI released in 1996, and touted as among the best Jordans, the report said.
"The release of the new Air Jordan shoe is a reason to get in the Christmas spirit," said The Bleacher Report, saying that the Nike brand and Michael Jordan always make it a point to release the awaited shoe at the right time.
Kix and the City said the shoe, aka Columbia, is "...[o]ne of the most anticipated sneaker releases of the year. It will be on your Top 5 for 2014, said The Boombox, adding: "The name of the shoe may be a bit off-putting since it's actually the return of the Air Jordan 11 'Columbia,' but what's in a name anyway?"
"This original colorway is a mix of patent leather and smooth leather in all white, with a tongue tag, Jumpman logo and translucent outsole tinted in Legend Blue," Nike described. It also has black accent at the tab, containing Jordan's number, 23.
The Bleacher Report wrote that the simple design of the shoe comes at a time when the market is dominated by flashy designs. It added: "It's got just enough of an update to feel like it belongs in 2014, while still maintaining the air of originality that made it such a staple of the Jordan collection."
On Nike.com, it will be available in sizes 7-13, 14, 15, 16, 17 and 18. It will also be available in kids' sizes - gradeschool (3.5Y - 7Y) $150; preschool (10.5c - 3Y) $85; toddler (2c-10c) $65; Infant (1c-4c) $50.
Foot Locker Unlocked advised that there will be a ticketing procedure for Foot Locker and House of Hoops by Foot Locker stores - on a first come, first served basis with tickets to be handed out at 9 in the morning - You can locate their stores on Launch Locator.
There have already been sweepstakes for tickets, Foot Locker Unlocked reported. In fact, Sneaker News said the long queues at the lottery may only be a sneak peek at the mayhem that will unfold on Saturday, even as these were held to minimize footfall in the weekend. The comments section of the report would show that some are already selling their tickets.
Meanwhile, Footlocker.com will begin receiving orders the same time as Nike's online store. Slam Online reported that VILLA will also be selling the model. According to Sneaker News, you can also buy a pair on eBay.
"Tinker made it shine. Mike made it fly. You made it iconic," Nike.com's catchy tagline reads. The news reports indicate that these are must-haves.
