'Avengers: Age of Ultron' Release Date, Cast & Trailer: Iron Man's Suit to Have Awesome Upgrade
Tony Stark, a.k.a. Iron Man, is getting an amazing armor upgrade.
Fans of the superhero will definitely see a revamped version of Iron Man's suit when "Avengers: Age of Ultron" comes out in theaters on May 1, 2015. According to a report from Yahoo Movies, photos of Iron Man's upgraded armor were released by Hot Toys on their Facebook page as part of its "Avengers: Age of Ultron" collectible series.
The pictures reveal Iron Man's new Mark XLIII suit. The collectible figure was modeled accurately on a fully-costumed Robert Downey Jr. as he will appear in the upcoming movie, Yahoo Movies reports. Even if the collectible figure is quite small, the news outlet adds that the toy is "still big enough to spot some of the differences between this latest outfit and Stark's previous examples of superhero wear."
Yahoo also notes that Hot Toys' Mark XLIII collectible displays visible wear and tear on the arms and legs. A special edition collectible, Yahoo adds, will feature Iron Man's helmet sporting battle-sustained damage. This reportedly suggests that the action figure's appearance represents Iron Man after he battled against Ultron, the film's villain.
Based on the photos released by Hot Toys, Yahoo notices that the Mark XLIII suit is miles away from the Mark I, which Tony Stark wore in the first "Iron Man" film. The armor has been developed since then. Mark V was the suitcase suit and Mark VI was the armor with piercing wristrocket and a 200-Pettawatt laser weapon. Yahoo Movies notes that the Mark III was the first suit to feature the red-and-gold combination which fans love.
"Iron Man 3" also featured numerous of Tony Stark's suits, ranging from "the Mark XVI 'Nightclub' armor (designed for maximum stealth) to the Mark XL 'Shotgun' get-up (designed for maximum hyper-sonic flight speed)," the news outlet notes. Those suits, however, were destroyed by Stark during the movie's climax, but it appears that the superhero immediately went to work to build the much improved Mark XLIII.
"Avengers: Age of Ultron," written and directed by Joss Whedon, will combine the superhero forces of Iron Man (Downey), Captain America (Chris Evans), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), The Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), and Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner). According to Marvel, the film will revolve around the Avengers teaming up against Ultron (played by James Spader) to "stop him from enacting his terrible plans, and soon uneasy alliances and unexpected action pave the way for an epic and unique global adventure."
