‘GTA 5' PS4, Xbox One Online Heists DLC Trailer Revealed! Release Date 2015 [Watch Video Here]
Signs pointing at the arrival of GTA V Heists are clearer than ever, thanks to the new trailer released by Rockstar Games. The hype surrounding the much-awaited DLC has been sustained by avid followers all these time, despite the fact that "Grand Theft Auto V" and "GTA" Online have long been with us.
According to GameRant, the trailer showed a four-player co-op mode where one takes the role of a leader, while the rest play as crew members. The leader will be doing a number of tasks, including the recruitment of other players, assignment of roles upon his constituents and selection of appropriate Heists gear, among others.
Crew members, on the other hand, will simply have to play out and execute their jobs as necessary. But Heists are all about teamwork -- and in the world of "GTA," nothing seems to matter more than a successfully-accomplished mission!
GameRant added that there are five separate Heists expected at launch, with over 20 different missions. Accordingly, these will be replayable, allowing players to experience different roles.
Why Heists appeared to take forever has been addressed by "GTA" Online producer and lead mission designer Imran Sarwar in his dialogue with IGN. The helm confessed, "To be honest, they just turned out to be a lot more difficult than we originally thought."
"Our initial idea was to build on the concept of Story Mode heists to make a new gameplay experience for 'GTA' Online that was more focused on cooperation, where everyone could play to their individual strengths and feel like they had a stake in the outcome," he explained.
Sarwar claimed that they had put much effort in the creation multi-tiered missions, along with diverse prep work that included multiple gameplay types and a "big finale." He also expressed acknowledgment of the player's need to feel central at all times.
Yet the pressure just grew stronger. "As it turns out, creating missions of that complexity for multiple players at the same time was much more difficult than we anticipated and every time we thought we were close, something would send us back to square one. Having already let players know of our intentions with Heists, every setback only increased the pressure to make sure we got them right."
On a more recent note, Rockstar has confirmed the arrival of Heists "early in 2015." International Business Times reported that the DLC comes free to all consoles, including the Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS4 and PS3, as well as the PC.
