Nike Release Dates 2014: KD 7 'Wild West' Drops Dec. 19 - Price, Photos & Where to Buy
The KD7 "Wild West", the newest product in the Nike Kevin Durant series, is set to be launched in select retail stores on Friday, December 19, 2014, (8am EST/5am PST), according to Nike.
The shoe features a silver and orange color scheme with a metallic Hyperposite heel, Nike described on its website. It is inspired by the Oklahoma City Thunder basketball player's college life in Austin, Texas.
"Summer 2006 was a pivotal time for Kevin Durant's growth. The day after high school graduation, Durant moved to Austin, Texas, to attend college," Nike stated. "Knowing little about Texas and southwest hospitality, Durant immediately felt at home when he arrived on campus in Austin. The friendly welcome extended beyond the basketball court as Durant enjoyed the music, people, food and culture that was distinctly Austin."
Durant was named as the first freshman in history to bag the Naismith College Player of the Year from 2006-2007, with an average of 25.8 points and 11.1 rebounds. "My experience in Austin helped build character," the athlete said, as quoted in another Nike report. "It was so different from home, but that's what made it unique and special."
The KD7 "Wild West" can be yours for $150 and will be available in sizes 7-13, 14, and 15. The shoe will also be available in kid sizes 3.5Y-7Y, priced at $115. Color schemes include metallic silver, urban orange, wolf grey, and pure platinum. The footwear has "orange accents along its midsole, Nike Swoosh and the KD image on the shoe's tongue," Realty Today reported. Meanwhile, the new NIKEiD-exclusive Wild West graphic will also be available in stores beginning December 19.
The KD7 "Wild West" also marks the 10th colorway release of the Nike KD7, the news outlet noted. The company also released a full N7 collection in November of this year. Other products include the Nike Foot Locker, hoodies, T-shirts, and other sneakers.

The shoe, inspired by Lebron James' basketball skills, will be available in black/bright mango-Hyper Punch-Volt color schemes for $200. According to Nike, the shoe combines "three key benefits: superior cushioning, harnessed support, and natural flexibility."
