iPhone 6S Release Date, Specs & Features: 4-inch iPhone 7 in 2015 [Rumors]
One of Apple's releases for 2015 may include a 4-inch model, according to reports cited by MacRumors. Allegedly, the device resurrects the user's ability to manipulate an iPhone with a single hand -- a convenience-feature that banished in the presence of the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus. This time, the model reportedly targets a female audience which, anatomically and generally speaking, have smaller hands than their male counterparts.
MacRumors pointed that the model may launch in the second half of 2015. Of course, we're eyeing none other than the rumored iPhone 7, which Stabley Times previously expected to come out in Sept. 2015. In our earlier note, the iPhone 6S, along with the highly-anticipated Apple Watch, has been speculated to make an appearance in next year's Spring (around March).
G for Games specifically noted that the rumored 4-inch iPhone model came from "a fresh report from Asia" -- Apple's Chinese supply chain. The outlet predicted that the device is a spin-off of previously launched iPhones.
Looking back at the Cupertino giant's history, we're reminded that the iPhone 5S, iPhone 5C, iPhone 5, iPhone 4S and iPhone 4 were handsets which took height starting from the 4-inch range.
Speaking of the iPhone 5C, G for Games also revealed rumors claiming that the device may finally come to a production halt.
Since Apple has not confirmed whether or not it drops the -s convention following its iPhone number line, nobody can really tell whether the company unveils an iPhone 6S or heads straight to an iPhone 7. Nevertheless, current speculations seem to gradually develop distinction between the two.
Or -- the rumored model may be an entirely different thing. Trusted Reviews took note of a possible iPhone 6C or a "high-spec" iPhone 6 Mini, which basically morphs the larger iPhone 6 (and 6 Plus) into its dwarf form. The outlet called the iPhone 5C a flop, claiming that the handset is indeed an outgoing version.
Macworld assumed that the iPhone 6S follows the 4.7-inch display of the iPhone 6. Accordingly, the size appeared to be favored by fans. The outlet is also convinced that the iPhone 6S features the same weight, slimness and "rounded" design of the current flagship.
However, a striking speculation cited by Macworld revealed that the iPhone 6S may draw inspiration from Samsung's Galaxy Note Edge. The source mentioned an earlier Apple patent that spoke of "sidewall displays." It was reported that these displays extend to the sides of the iPhone, providing interactive touch features.
If this holds true, the iPhone 6S comes into a brawl against Samsung's Galaxy S6 Edge, which is likewise rumored to pack the feature.
