WWE News & Rumors: Watch Sting & Hulk Hogan at Midnight Mayhem 'WWE 2K15' Launch [Video]
Just recently, WWE and 2K released a video featuring Sting and Hulk Hogan appearing at two Midnight Mayhem events that happened in San Francisco and Orlando Gamestops celebrating the launch of the WWE 2k15 last Nov. 18.
According to 411 Mania, the said game was developed by Yuke's and Visual Concepts which was given a T rating by the ERSB. It is now available for the Playstation 3 and 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. In a statement released by 2K, it noted that WWE 2K15 has made its "worldwide new-gen debut" and advised the audience to focus on the reactions of the fans to this newest release.
Sting, according to Hardcore Gamer, did a Gamestop midnight launch party which was still complete with live orchestra and face painters in the audience. On the other hand, Hulk Hogan appeared at another Gamestop launch. The two fighters were greeted by many fans during the event.
GameNGuide said in a similar report that the anticipation was high for the release as it noted gamers patiently queued to get a glimpse of Hulk Hogan and Sting.
"The number of fans who had their faces painted in Sting's signature 'Crow-esque' style were legion, and even the live orchestra that serenaded the folks in line while they waited were done up in honor of the former WCW champion," GameNGuide added in its report.
Sting reportedly signed with WWE just last April after he was considered to be "the greatest wrestler to never wrestle in the WWE ring." It was noted that Sting has been wrestling for 30 years with him getting a lot of attention from the public creating very strong and loyal fanbases in sports.
Describing the faces of the fans, GameNGuide said gamers were excited and full of hope as they come together for that single piece of entertainment.
"You do not need to know anything about wrestling to feel a sense of camaraderie. Maybe you've waited in line for tickets or a phone or some unnecessary item, no matter what though, it's important enough for you to take a few hours out and commiserate with your fellow fans," the report added.
And seeing Sting as part of the WWE was something that started "wonderful things," Hardcore Gamer added, especially with his debut at the Survivor Series PPV a week after the said launch. Add it to Hulk Hogan's presence and the two make a good combination for the fans.
"The WCW days allows fans to recreate their matches as well, and have tons of virtual dream matches that you couldn't have officially before this outside of using created characters or playing the Fire Pro Wrestling games," Hardcore Gamer added.
