LG G4 Release Date, Specs & Price: 5 Features of Next-Gen Smartphone [Rumors]
The successor to LG's G3 flagship, the G4 smartphone by analogy, may be announced May next year and launch thereafter -- according to The REM. If this holds true, the device joins the speculated list of early 2015 handset releases, including Samsung's Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge, HTC's One M9 and One M9 Prime.
We've curated five important features of the LG G4 based on current reports and previous notes. Not until LG confirms it, all we can do is predict for now. But who knows? These things might surprise us with their presence once the flagship comes out!
4K Super AMOLED Display
Master Herald reported that G4 improves its predecessor's display. That said, the device is rumored to feature 4K screen with a thinner surrounding bezel. The outlet also noted that some rumors claim a possible 2K display. Nevertheless, a Super AMOLED finish has been quite agreed upon.
Bezel-less, Crystal / Glass-Strong & Waterproof Design
G4 might look close to Sharp's Aquos Crystal, if LG decides to take out its bezels once and for all. TechRadar mentioned in an earlier report that the company is cooking a device that's virtually bezel-less, and all eyes seem to look at the upcoming G4 flagship.
I Know Today wrote that the handset might pack sapphire crystal glass architecture in the form of a 5.5 or 5.9-inch display. Alternatively, the company may opt for Corning's Gorilla Glass 4 -- the same type rumored for Apple's iPhone 6S / iPhone 7. As we have previously noted, Corning branded it as their strongest version of the screen yet.
The REM even pointed that G4 might actually be water-resistant, which of course, is always cool for a device. There aren't many amphibian smartphones yet, and LG might have finally recognized the need to have them bred.
More Megapixels for Main Camera
As reported by Latinos Post, G4 is expected to house a 20.7 MP main camera. This is about a 7.7 MP jump from predecessor G3, which sported a 13 MP rear shooter. The REM cited a different claim, telling that the main camera might be somewhere from 15 MP to 17 MP. Either way, we're expecting an upgraded megapixel count.
Faster Processor & Android 5.0 Lollipop
The REM said G4's processor could either be Qualcomm's Snapdragon 801, 802, 805 or 808. Meanwhile, Design & Trend offers a different perspective, believing that the device may pack LG's own Nunclun octa-core processor.
I Know Today wrote that a Snapdragon 810 chip is also possible, as it is compatible to the device's expected OS -- none other than Android's Lollipop.
Selection of Expandable Storage Options
G4 may originally ship with 32 GB and 64 GB variants with 3 GB and 4 GB of RAM. Memory may be expanded up to 128 GB through the assumed microSD slot.
According to Master Herald, most speculations agree that the device may be priced around $650.
