Manny Pacquiao Next Fight vs Floyd Mayweather: Video of Pacman Knocked Out Posted as Joke [Watch Here]
Instead of agreeing to fight with Manny Pacquiao next year, Floyd Mayweather Jr. busied himself with posting an Instagram video of the Filipino boxer being knocked out by Juan Manuel Marquez last December 2012.
The undefeated American fighter yesterday posted an Instagram video of the match of Pacquiao and Marquez, where the former was beaten via TKO two years ago. USA Today said that this move from Mayweather is a clear way to antagonize Pacquiao and noted that people should expect more of these jokes on his social networks.
The same report said that posting this video meant that the American wanted to make fun of Pacquiao's worst moment in his career and that it was a step up "from him calling Pacquiao 'broke' and 'desperate.'"
But a lot of people suggested that the two boxers should just make the fight happen, instead of facing opponents who are not in their level of fighting or making videos such as this.
"Mayweather's Instagram game is strong, we get it. Incorporating Queen into the video was an especially nice touch. Now put the phone down and make this fight happen," USA Today added.
CBS Sports similarly said that antagonizing Pacquiao, who is a potential opponent, is not a good idea for Mayweather as talks of the fight have not been ironed out for the past years. It also said that if the American fighter wants to have a good fight with Pacman, he should start focusing on making the fight a reality.
Asked for his reaction on the video posted by Mayweather, Pacquiao told Philippine reporters at the InterContinental Manila Hotel in Makati City on Thursday:
"If he thinks that I can be easily knocked out, then why isn't he agreeing to the fight."
The Filipino boxing icon has challenged Mayweather to fight him next year after the former outclassed Chris Algieri in their fight last Sunday in Macau, China.
"The people deserve that fight. The fans deserve that fight. The fans deserve that fight. I think it's time to say something. It's been a long time that I wanted that fight, but I didn't just want to keep talking and talking about that fight because the other camp is just denying, denying, always denying to talk about that fight," Pacquiao was quoted as saying in a Latin Post article.
