Honduras and Ecuador will face off in an international friendly on Tuesday.
Both teams have qualified for the World Cup next summer and are starting to gear up for the tournament with numerous friendly matches on the way.
Both sides played over the weekend and both failed to score. Honduras was dominated 5-0 by Brazil in Miami, while Ecuador managed to hold Argentina to a 0-0 draw.
"These games are a reward for the players," Honduras Coach Luis Fernando Suarez said, according to Soccer Way. "The call is in recognition of the achievements that we are very satisfied. It is the best opportunity to demonstrate our conditions and know where we are.
"I honestly feel like I have a very great desire to play these games. [Our] rivals are going to demand the most and that's good."
Ecuador's camp also sees these friendly matches as an opportunity to grow and prepare for the big tournament.
"These are very important games," said Ecuador's Frickson Erazo, "because both teams qualified for the World Cup."
"In these games, we have to stay focused on doing well," added his teammate Gabriel Achilier. "That will help us for the World Cup, at which we will give our lives if we have to, for the good of the team."
Ecuador finished four in the CONMEBOL qualifiers, while Honduras clinched the third spot in the CONCACAF's hexagonal round.
Prediction: Ecuador is the stronger side and should pull off a solid 2-0 win.
