Poland vs. Ireland Live Score, Preview, Prediction, Schedule: International Friendly 2013
Ireland and Poland will face off in an international friendly on Tuesday.
Both sides have been eliminated from World Cup contention and will be waiting around for the next two years before having a chance to compete for qualifications for a major tournament.
The Irish camp, which recently participated in the Euro Championships in 2012 is having a hard time adjusting to its new reality.
"It was so quick and disappointing after such a buildup. You watch Ireland in the competitions over the years and it brought about such positivity and joy to the country," said Ireland's Kevin Doyle according to the Irish Mirror. "It was disappointing we couldn't do that. We didn't really justify ourselves.
"But we weren't scarred from it and we're not going back there now thinking of it in that sense. We're trying to have a different mindset," he added. "We enjoyed the win over Latvia the other night, we won with a bit of style and that will obviously help us."
Ireland has compiled a record of three wins, one draw and four losses in its last eight matches. The team recently defeated Latvia 3-0 at home.
Poland has a record of four wins, two draws and three losses in its last nine; the team has lost three straight including a 2-0 decision against Slovakia last Friday. The other two losses came against the Ukraine and England in the final two World Cup qualifying games.
Prediction: Poland wins 1-0.
Start Time: Kick-off Starts at 3 p.m. EST
