'Nashville' Season 2 Episode 8 Spoilers: Jeff Goes to War with Rayna, Juliette Makes a Decision About Charles [Video]
The latest episode of "Nashville" featured Peggy and Teddy's wedding and a surprise twist for Juliette.
On the latest episode, "She's Got You," Juliette (Hayden Panettiere) is on tour, and is still having an affair with British playboy Charles Wentworth (Charlie Bewley). Meanwhile, Rayna (Connie Britton) is working on getting Scarlett (Clare Bowen) on tour.
Jeff (Oliver Hudson) from Edgehill Records wants to meet with Gunnar (Sam Palladio) about his song, and Gunnar says he wants to be a singer, but needs Jeff's help to do it.
Layla (Aubrey Peeples) is still flirting with Will (Chris Carmack), and Will flirts back to make Brett jealous. Will keeps quiet while people harass Brett about his supposed boyfriend, then Will beats up the bigots in the parking lot.
Rayna goes to visit Luke (Will Chase) to get her mind off the fact that her ex-husband Teddy is getting re-married, and the two end up sleeping together.
Deacon (Charles Esten) decides to sing at the Bluebird, and Rayna and Maddie (Lennon Stella) are in attendance, which Maddie is thrilled about.
At the end of the hour, Juliette opens up her hotel room door to find Olivia, Charles' unhappy wife. Olivia tells her that she knows Juliette is having an affair with her husband. Then comes the big twist: Olivia says that she wants Juliette to sleep with her too, and leans in to kiss her.
On the next episode of "Nashville," titled "Hanky Panky Woman," "Rayna joins Scarlett on the road for her first tour date with Luke Wheeler, and is blindsided when Deacon confronts her about putting too much pressure on Scarlett, too soon. Jeff goes to war against Rayna over control of the album she produced with Liam, and Juliette makes a decision about Charlie Wentworth. Gunnar struggles to write a song for a major artist, and gets help from Scarlett-sparking an idea for Rayna that could potentially be liberating for her and life-changing for Gunnar."
Future episodes will feature Deacon's continued progress as both a musician and father. Charles Esten spoke to TVLine about his character's developing relationship with his daughter, Maddie, and his complicated relationship with Maddie's mother, Rayna.
"We are both trying to do our very best by her [Maddie]," he notes, "even if we haven't done right by each other. It's real sweet that [Maddie] is part of the group that's bringing Deacon alive again and back into the world."
"He's coming around in a lot of different ways," Esten said about Deacon.
