Nokia Lumia 2520 Review, Specs: Nokia Release Lumia 2520 Tablet Advertisement [Video]

By Michael Oleaga| Nov 26, 2013

With the Nokia Lumia 2520 available for purchase, the company released a new advertisement touting what it claims is the "right" tablet.

The new 80-second ad features a man depicting his story with his new tablet, presumably an iPad by Apple.

"Everyone wants one," says the man about his new tablet, noting how it is thinner than a pencil, which refers to a new iPad Air commercial produced by Apple in October.

The man, however, encounters trouble with his new tablet such as lack of a keyboard and battery power. With the problems, the man results to using his laptop. At each situation, he meets a woman who he seems to try to impress. However, the woman might have impressed him as she's shown with the Lumia 2520 tablet.

"So, um, did I buy the wrong tablet?" asks the narrator.

The new Nokia commercial launched on YouTube on Nov. 25 and has been viewed over 425,000 times.

Reviews for the video has been mixed.

"This is a really bad, it focuses more on the iPad than their product at least Apple ads show what it can do instead of saying how bad are other products compared to it. It shows the iPad most of the time, it might as well be an Apple add," commented Chaotic567 on YouTube.

Privacyyyyy wrote, "Another stupid meaningless [ad]. Such [ads] have no creativity, amazing, beautiful things to show. Instead it's bringing their own Nokia (and Microsoft) down to a lower level and only making themselves look like douche bags bragging how worse the iPad is. You are spending your energy on your competition rather on your own products. I will never buy from such a negative company. Sound's like a second Microsoft full of unsocial people."

"This ad only shows that Nokia is afraid of the iPad because they know the iPad is better, and so they attempt to bring it down to their own level. If the iPad was so bad like they say, they wouldn't need to say bad things about it, they could just focus on their own product instead," commented TDUsafiro.

Giorgio Nardini shared, "When all these companies will focus on THEIR OWN products maybe they'll start selling and get better. Stop comparing, start improving."

The Lumia 2520 features a screen size of 10.1 inches with 1,920x1,080 resolution at 218 pixels per inch. The Lumia 2520 is available in a 32GB internal storage model with 2GB of RAM. The tablet sports a microSD card slot for up to 32GB additional memory. The Lumia 2520 has a rear-facing photography camera with 6.7 megapixels at 3,088x1,744 pixels and a front-facing camera with 2 megapixels. The tablet utilizes the Qualcomm MSM8974 Snapdragon 800 quad-core 2.2GHz Krait 400 processor. The Lumia 2520 has a battery capacity of 8,000mAh for up to 600 hours on standby.
