Toyota Recall List 2014: 361,800 Camry, Hiace, Regius Ace, Dyna & Crown Vehicles Affected

Toyota is recalling 361,800 vehicles -- with the list including some Camry, Hiace, Regius Ace, Dyna, Crown and Crown Majesta models.

The most recent 2014 Toyota recall covers three separate defects, the company said, according to a Reuters report.

Specifically, 170,000 Camry sedans are to be recalled for over faulty ball joints. The Reuters report said it "could cause a loss of control of the vehicle."

Most of the Camry units affected were distributed in Europe -- with 120,000 vehicles subject for recall, the Reuters report said. In Japan, 40,000 Toyota Camrys are part of the list.

International Business Times reported that "60 [Toyota Camry] cars, made between March 2011 and August 2014, are in the U.S."

Hiace, Regius Ace and Dyna vehicles are also part of the Toyota recall list, added the Reuters report. A total of "105,800 Hiace and Regius Ace vans, and Dyna model trucks" need their fuel pipes replaced, noted International Business Times. The vehicles affected are mostly in Japan.

The Wall Street Journal said that Toyota is also recalling 86,000 Crown and Crown Majesta cars in Japan for outer seat belt assemblies replacement.

Multiple reports say that the 361,800-vehicle Toyota recall is not knowingly linked to any crashes, injuries, death and other untoward incidents.

But this certainly isn't the first time Toyota has recalled its vehicles.

"Last month, Toyota ordered the recall of nearly 247,000 Toyota Corolla, Matrix, Sequoia, Tundra and Lexus SC vehicles, sold in the US, its biggest market, to fix defective airbags made by Japanese supplier Takata," International Business Times said in another report.

Business Insider said that the faulty Takata airbags installed in the couple of hundred thousand Toyota vehicles could "malfunction, explode, and send shard of metal flying into the passenger cabin."

Other than that, "three other defects, including a faulty brake master cylinder, in its Toyota Crown, Noah and Auris models" were also grounds for a separate Toyota recall the past month, noted International Business Times.

Toyota is reportedly "the largest seller of automobiles in the world," said International Business Times, beating Volkswagen and General Motors.

The latter vehicle brand has also issued a massive recall of old model vehicles, some discontinued, said Business Insider. Ignition switch problems which can lead to loss of power and malfunctioning airbags are said to be the culprit, the same outlet added.
