Being the world's largest online retailer, it only makes sense that Amazon.com would take Cyber Monday 2013 - the increasingly relevant "Black Friday for the online shopping season" - seriously. Judging by some of the deals Amazon is offering, they are.

Kindle Fire HD and Kindle Fire HDX

Leading Amazon's discounted electronics is the company's very own Kindle Fire lineup, which got a big upgrade this year with the introduction of the Kindle Fire HDX. Amazon announced on Sunday two big deals on the 2013 Kindle Fire HD and the new Kindle Fire HDX 7-inch.

"The new Fire tablets are the best tablets we've ever built-the reviews from press and the feedback from customers has been overwhelmingly positive," said Neil Lindsay, Vice President of Amazon Kindle in the company's statement. "We're excited to be able to offer $50 off Kindle Fire HDX 7" and the all-new Kindle Fire HD 16GB for Cyber Monday."

That's nearly 30 percent off the price of a 16GB Kindle Fire HD, which goes from $169 to $119, and nearly 20 percent off the regular $229 price (now $179) of the Kindle Fire HDX 7-inch.

The Kindle Fire HDX features a 2.2GHz quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, running a 1080p Full HD resolution (1920 x 1200p, 323 pixels per inch) display. The device gets 11 hours of mixed use out of its battery. In hardware, the Kindle Fire HDX rivals Google's own Nexus 7 in resolution and out-powers it in processing, and the HDX includes all of Amazon's top services, like Goodreads, Prime Instant Video downloads, and the new live-chat 24/7 customer support feature, Mayday.

The new Kindle Fire HD, which incorporates some modest improvements in screen resolution and other hardware over last year's model, is being sold for the lowest price of any new Kindle Fire HD ever.
